چکیده

Abstract Background Metronidazole is a widely used antibiotic to treat anaerobic and protozoal infections. However, neurologic adverse events associated with metronidazole have been reported in case series reports. Previous publications implicated that long-term usage cumulative dose are risk factors for this event. Still, little known about the factor of metronidazole-associated events. Therefore, we conducted retrospective study investigate through matched case-control study. Methods This enrolled patients prescribed from January 2006 July 2021 at Severance Hospital, tertiary hospital South Korea. Case were defined as those who developed central nervous system (CNS) or peripheral (PNS) during period causality assessment. In 1 3 ratio, compared control group without events, on age metronidazole. Results 92838 period. Among them, 52 showed (39 CNS, 27 PNS 14 both). The proportion chronic kidney disease (CKD), solid organ transplantation, liver cirrhosis (LC), intravenous (IV) administration metronidazole, concomitant use proton pump inhibitor was significantly higher group. body weight, hemoglobin, serum albumin levels lower, Sequential Organ Failure Assessment scores Multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis demonstrated LC, CKD, IV administration, lower weight Conclusion study, Prolonged treatment requires careful examination these Disclosures All Authors: No disclosures.

Risk factors associated with adverse events during endoscopic ultrasound-guided tissue sampling

BACKGROUND AND AIM Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) is commonly used to obtain tissue external to the gastrointestinal tract. EUS-FNA is relatively safe, but occasionally adverse events have been reported. There is scarcity of data on risk factors of adverse events. The aim of this study is to identify risk factors associated with EUS-FNA. METHODS In this multicen...
